Purdue NewU’s University to University webinars are intended to bring together faculty and staff from Purdue and Kaplan University to foster learning, share best practices, promote ongoing collaboration, and support better understanding among our teams and campuses.

Each session addresses our goal to expand access to higher education for working adults and others for whom traditional campus study is not accessible or attainable. Subject matter experts from both Purdue and Kaplan University will share their respective perspectives and approaches before opening the webinar up to a broader conversation that includes question and answers.

Curriculum Design topic for next NewU Webinar

The third in our series of one-hour Purdue NewU webinars will explore the topic "Curriculum Design," 2-3 p.m. Oct. 19.

The webinars are intended to bring together faculty and staff from Purdue and Kaplan University to foster learning, share best practices, promote ongoing collaboration, and support better understanding amongst our teams and campuses.

Each session addresses our goal to expand access to higher education for working adults and others for whom traditional campus study is not accessible or attainable. Subject matter experts from both Purdue and Kaplan University will share their respective perspectives and approaches before opening it up to a broader conversation that includes question and answers. You may attend any or all sessions.

This third seminar features Chantal Levesque-Bristol, Purdue director of center of instructional; Lisa Wallace, Kaplan University executive director, curriculum; and Lisa Wright, faculty member in Kaplan University's College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Future webinar session topics include competency-based education and continuous improvement in teaching and learning. The first two webinars focused on mission and online learning.

Each webinar is limited to the first 1,000 participants, and videos of each will be archived on the NewU web site http://purduenewu.org

Instructions for attendees

Using the WebEx meeting tool, Purdue and Kaplan presenters will address their topic. The remaining time will be devoted to addressing questions submitted by the audience, which will include faculty and staff from both institutions.

You may join the webinars 30 minutes before their start times. If you have not used WebEx before, please use this time to for some initial set up that will be needed.

If you have not used WebEx before, you will be promoted to download and install the Cisco WebEx add-on. After installing, quit your browser, re-launch the browser and rejoin the event.

Once in the event, click on "Quick Start" in the top left corner. Then select how you want to hear your audio —through the computer or call in on the phone—and then click OK. (With either option you will be able to view the presentation as well as hear the audio.)

If you select to hear it on your computer, a box labeled "Computer Audio Settings" will appear where you can make adjustments. You are now ready to see and hear the webinar.
